Latest Update
Program Overview
The objective of Industry Program in Paint and Coating Technology - Distance Learning program is to provide an intensive and up to date learning in the emerging area of Chemical sciences. The program provides a basic to advance level of expertise in Paint and Coating Technology and its usage in the industry.
About paint & Coating Technology
The paint and coatings industry primarily includes architectural coatings (i.e., house paint) a diverse collection of product coatings applied as part of the manufacturing process (original equipment manufacturer of OEM), and special purpose coatings, such as those for ships, offshore oil and gas rigs, auto refinish and highway and traffic markings. Raw materials suppliers and distributors are also components of the industry.
Generally, paints and coatings are applied to products to protect them from environmental effects, and improve their consumer appeal. In some cases, paints and coatings provide an element essential to a product's use, such as the coatings that protect food and beverages in metal cans from contamination and spoilage.
The main objective of the program is to create technical professionals who excel in the specialized field of Paint & Coating Technology. The program would help to fill the gap by creating an even greater demand for such personnel in paint and Coating Technology as no formal training exists for a variety of such specialized areas.
The overall objective of Institute is to provide a platform for education & training services to the paint personnel, to companies supplying goods & services to the industry and specifier of the industry's products.
Paint and coating technology program consist of a self-study part combined with compulsory assignments.
The institute endows ongoing support to training programs for coatings industry work force that play a vital role in the successful protection of capital assets against corrosion.
